Gordon Wagener asks: In reference to urban mobility (and Megacities), how will design evolve in the upcoming two decades?
Studio VE answers: Megacities must have an efficient transportation system to move millions of people on a daily basis. The process of urban mobility has the aim of getting you in the shortest time possible from point A to B. This solution is what we want in most days, but sometimes we can take random walks.
It’s about the journey – walking or riding a bike, taking left or right, endless variations to choose from along the way, each and every one of them different. This is what makes things interesting. Random walks remind us that the city is a microcosmos, and you don’t need to buy a plane ticket to explore the world.
